Can anyone explain (in pretty simplistic terms) how the vacuum lines are connected to a Ford Motorcraft 2150 Carb? I believe this is a very similar (if not the same) carb as the Autocraft 2100. I have a 67 Mustang with a transplanted 302 engine.

Unfortunately I don't know what the donor vehicle was.

The carb has a few 'nipples' that do not have anything connected to them, as well as one that has been plugged off with a short tube and a screw. Do I need to block off any unused vacuum connections? I should probably admit that I do not entirely understand the purpose of the vacuum functions. Thanks in advance!

Best Answer: For a 67 model you shouldn't have use all the ports you will need one that is ported Venturi vacuum for the advance on the distributor any vac. Will require manifold vac. The PVC valve is usually the largest port if has a auto choke it needs to be vented to the port on the plate for the air cleaner sits if it has a dual diaphragm dist then the back side of the diaphragm gets manifold vac. Check with most parts houses and will find this info in a manual or go to the library and see if they have a Chilton's or Motor's manual then you can copy the pages with this info.

The motor has a serial # on it. You can do a number search and it will tell you the year of the motor. When you find that go to the library and look through the Mitchell repair manuals for that year Ford. When you find the that you will be able to see on the diagrams where each vacum line goes.

You can probably plug some but others you may need, I.E. The vacum advance line to your distributor. In other words if you find out that the motor is a 302 that was made in 1971 you may want to check the section in Mitchells manual that deals with the Ford Mustang. The Mustang had a 302 version and it will show you exactly wht goes where. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed. 1990 4.2 motorcraft 2150 ordered from the famed guy on ebay. And yes it is nuttered. Okay this will be long winded. At the bottom is the diagram I kinda used for the running of vac lines.

(1st pic) pic is of the CTO, like diagram shows the 2 ports T and. (2nd pic).they plug into the carb high on the carb here (3rd) Now this pic is where my vacuum advance from the dizzy hooks in low on the carb where my finger is. Delta V Dcs Software Download. (4th) breather at the front of the valve cover where you add oil (5th) back valve cover breather tube the attaches.

(6th).to the bottom backside of the carb right here (7th) this vacuum line where my finger is pointing is the brake booster line that attaches to a port coming off the manifold right above the egr. Its always been that way (8th) Here is another line coming off the cto as diagram shows going to the egr (9th) this a port that I plugged coming off of the same line that runs from the manifold to where the brake line booster hooks in (10th) another port high on the backside of the carb (white plug (11th) yet another open port low on the backside of the carb (black plug Now the diagram I used Is it ran correctly? It still doesn't run the best and was wondering what can I do help me run these lines correctly! Theres a few corrections you need to make. The port high on the carb that you show in the second pic is your fuel bowl vent and should run to tye charcoal canister. Its actually the light blue vacuum line in the diagram. Solidprofessor Solidworks 2013 Rar Password more. The two lines that are Td off the cto need to be Td into the line running to your distributor instead of running to the carb.

The vacuum advance and pcv valve (pic 5) are fine. The pcv breather (pic 4) can be left as is, or you can run a vacuum line to the white capped nipple in pic 10 (this is what i would recommend). Theres a few corrections you need to make. The port high on the carb that you show in the second pic is your fuel bowl vent and should run to tye charcoal canister.
