I could not believe it when I heard that Brittany Murphy had died. I had not been a die-hard fan, but had always loved her in whatever she happened to be in. It also saddens me that whenever someone died so close to Christmas, and New Years. A of Murphy talking about a New Year’s resolution made my heart sink.

But as everyone is now peering into just why she suffered cardiac arrest with no history of a heart condition, I remember that it had been rumoured that the actress suffered from an eating disorder. While I’m not saying that that’s what caused it, it’s a possibility. And besides I am always hesitant to slap the anorexic label on someone because of their thinness even though an eating disorder can often be the source, I believe it is wrong to assume. *But* I would not be surprised if this were the case, especially if she was also taking many prescription drugs. I does feel disrespectful to pry, but it is almost unavoidable in out culture. But what doesn’t add up yet is that cardiac arrest is almost always stated as the cause of death, it’s what causes the heart failure that is the actual cause of demise. One’s heart does not simply just stop without a preceding event to trigger it.
